Chosen at market, every week
The pumpkin and kūmara on your plate are chosen by hand at market each week. We buy as local as we can, because a roast is only as good as what goes into it.
Slow roasted, the traditional way
Our meat is locally sourced and slow-roasted until it's tender. The pork comes out with its crackling, the lamb shanks from 5pm, the whole chickens from midday.
Gravy made here
Every roast is finished with our homemade gravy, with apple sauce on the pork and mint sauce on the lamb. Simple things, done properly.

Since 2007 we've chosen fresh, locally sourced meat over frozen, with a little slow cooking and minimal processing to let the natural flavours shine. Kaiapoi Roast is a family business, and this is us. We're originally from Malaysia and moved here ten years ago, and this community has felt like home ever since.
We love it here, and we try to give back whenever we can. The roast is our way of saying thank you: wholesome, cooked with care and love, for the people who keep coming back for it.
